Presentation #1

“Leveraging LevelDB for Unit-level Replay of Top-level Stimulus in UVM” by Nick Jones, Samsung

This presentation describes methodology for reuse of stimulus from an integrated chip testbench at the unit level with UVM and an embedded key/value store. The methodology leverages monitoring UVM sequence items in an integrated, passive UVM Verification Component (UVC) and storage into LevelDB.  Replay of these stored items provides cycle accurate stimulus at the unit level for accelerated debugging and regression.

  • Nick Jones’ background stems from a lifelong love of learning programming languages, to post-silicon lab debug, and design verification.  He has most recently been working on verifying an ARM compliant hardware table walker for SARC’s next generation of CPU IP.  When he’s not working, he’s playing with his kids, outside running, or home brewing beer.

Presentation #2

“A New Frontier of Verification” by Sean Sun, NXP

In this presentation, Sean will provide an overview of the state of verification – a journey from past through present culminating in a new frontier of verification.

  • Sean Sun is a Global HW Performance Verification Manager with Automotive Microcontrollers & Processors of NXP, tasked to change our experience in cars with next generation SoCs.  Sean was SoC Functional Verification Manager on i.MX6/7 SoC products (Freescale) which changed our experience reading books and interacting with devices in the mass market.  Efforts under his leadership showed track record of achieving 1st silicon success and production revenue ramp with high volumes.  Prior to Freescale/NXP, Sean held various leadership positions in MediaTek, Intel, and Motorola.
